Meet the GSES technical committee
The technical committee (TC) maintains and (further) develops the GSES standards and submits amendments to the board of experts (BoE) as advice with substantiation, the interpretation and/or adjustment of the GSES standards, and the procedure for certification. In addition to developers, the TC also includes lead auditors from authorized and accredited certification bodies.
Boško Gavović
Certification, Standards & Conformity Assessment Expert
Boško Gavović is a seasoned standards and certification professional and CEO of TMS CEE d.o.o. Belgrade, a leading testing, inspection, and certification organisation. Under his leadership, TMS has grown into a respected regional provider of management systems certification and conformity assessment across a wide range of ISO standards and ESG-related assurance. Within the GSES Technical Committee, Boško contributes expertise on certification frameworks, assurance models, and the practical implementation of standards in organisational and regulatory contexts.
Gert-Jan Vroege
LCA & Circular Expert
Gert-Jan Vroege is a recognised expert in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and sustainability, specialising in environmental data analysis and the critical review of LCA studies. As an accredited LCA reviewer and practitioner at Eco Intelligence, he supports life-cycle modelling and environmental performance evaluation across a wide range of materials and sectors, working in line with international standards such as ISO 14040/44 and EPD methodologies. Within the GSES Technical Committee, he provides methodological expertise to ensure environmental indicators and lifecycle-based standards are scientifically robust and internationally consistent.
Hans Kröder
ISO/TC 323 Circular Economy—Convenor Working Group 3
“Measuring Circularity”
Hans Kröder is an internationally recognised expert in sustainability, CSR, and the circular economy, with decades of experience in developing and implementing global standards. He played a key role in the development of ISO 26000 and ISO 20400 and served as Convenor of ISO/TC 323 Working Group 3 on measuring circularity within the ISO Circular Economy programme. Within the GSES Technical Committee, Hans provides strategic guidance on CSR, sustainable procurement, circular economy measurement, and alignment with international sustainability frameworks and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Gerard Blijleven
Sustainability Certification & Assurance Expert
Gerard Blijleven is an experienced sustainability certification professional with deep expertise in conformity assessment and sustainability assurance systems. He has held senior roles at Control Union Certifications and currently serves as Operations Manager Sustainability Certification at Normec QS, overseeing sustainability certification services and audit quality. Within the GSES Technical Committee, Gerard contributes operational and assurance expertise to ensure that GSES standards are auditable, credible, and aligned with recognised certification practices.
Meet the GSES board of experts
Board of experts (BoE) is primarily responsible for keeping the GSES standards current and functions as a point of contact for the certification bodies. The BoE takes decisions on the basis of proposed advice from the TC and submits this as advice to the board of directors. The secretariat is in the hands of the NDI.
Bianca Nijhof
Sustainability professional on water, biodiversity, inclusion, & natural & social human capital
Bianca Nijhof is an experienced sustainability leader with over thirty years of expertise in natural capital, biodiversity, water, and climate adaptation. As Global Lead for Nature Growth at Anthesis Group, she supports organisations in integrating nature-positive strategies into sustainability and business transformation, building on her background as a landscape ecologist and former leadership roles at Arcadis and the Netherlands Water Partnership. She is actively engaged in international initiatives such as the World Economic Forum and the Capitals Coalition, where she advances integrated approaches to nature, water, and biodiversity.
Stephan Corvers
CEO Corvers Procurement Services | EU & Innovation Procurement Expert
Stephan Corvers is a senior expert in European public procurement law, innovation procurement, and strategic contracting, with over fifteen years of advisory experience. As Founder and Managing Director of Corvers Procurement Services, he specialises in complex procurement projects, legal compliance, and innovation-driven sourcing across Europe, and is a recognised author and international speaker in his field. Within the GSES Board of Experts, he provides expertise on sustainable procurement, legal feasibility, and embedding sustainability standards into procurement and market mechanisms.
Esther Diez Cebollero
Environmental Policy, Water & Research Coordination Expert
Esther Diez Cebollero is a research and innovation expert specialising in environmental policy, sustainable water management, and strategic research coordination. As Scientific Coordinator at the French National Research Agency (ANR), she plays a key role in shaping European collaborative research programmes on water security and environmental resilience and serves on the Executive Board of the Water4All Partnership. Within the GSES Board of Experts, she provides scientific and policy-oriented insight to ensure sustainability standards align with current research and European environmental priorities.
Hans Keetman
Sustainability Strategy, CSRD & Business Transformation Expert
Hans Keetman is an experienced technical and business leader with extensive expertise in sustainability, innovation, logistics, and corporate governance. He has held senior leadership roles at organisations such as Fokker Aircraft, DAF Trucks, and Air Traffic Control Netherlands, and later became Managing Partner of CO₂EQ, where he supports organisations with CSRD gap analyses, implementation strategies, and translating sustainability reporting into operational processes. Within the GSES Board of Experts, he contributes practical insight on embedding sustainability standards into business operations, reporting, and governance.
