1 What is the DPP?

The Digital Product Passport (DPP) is a digital record that stores essential information about a product, such as its material composition, durability, repairability, and end-of-life information, as well as verified compliance and certification data.

The information provided by a DPP is meant to enhance transparency and extend product life cycles, while preventing greenwashing by ensuring compliance with sustainability and performance requirements. The goal of the DPP is to support the EU’s transition to a circular economy.

2 Who is it for?

  • Manufacturers: collect, manage, and upload product data into the DPP.
  • Retailers & distributors: ensure all products have a valid DPP.
  • Consumers: access reliable information for sustainable decision-making.
