Embracing Sustainability Excellence with GSES: A Journey to Net Positive Achievements
As the Chief Innovation Officer of the Johan Cruijff ArenA, I have always believed that sustainability is not just a choice; it’s a responsibility that organizations must undertake to secure a better future for generations to come. Our vision at the ArenA is to be a beacon of sustainable innovation, setting an example for others to follow. To realize this vision, we embarked on a challenging journey towards becoming a Net Positive organization by 2030.
The path to sustainability is both challenging and rewarding, and we were determined to align our operations and practices with our values. It was during this quest that we decided to partner with GSES. This platform provided us with a comprehensive solution to not only measure our own sustainability performance but also to eventually evaluate the entire stakeholder ecosystem of the Johan Cruijff ArenA.
What truly distinguishes the GSES SaaS platform is its three-tiered approach, encompassing organizational-level assessment, product-level analysis, and a supply chain dashboard. These features allowed us to delve deep into our operations, identify areas for improvement, and track our progress towards achieving our Net Positive ambitions. Beyond our organization, the platform empowered us to extend our sustainability vision to our suppliers and partners. By measuring the sustainability performance of our stakeholders, we could ensure that our entire ecosystem was aligned with our goals.
One of the standout aspects of this partnership is the alignment of values. Just as I am, the JCA is passionate about transforming profit-making companies into net positive entities, the GSES team shares a similar dedication to making a positive impact.
As I reflect on the progress we’ve made thus far, I am filled with optimism for the future. Our partnership with GSES has not only streamlined our sustainability efforts but has also ignited a sense of collective responsibility within our organization and beyond. By setting an example, we hope to inspire others in the sports and entertainment industry, as well as across various sectors, to embrace sustainable practices and work towards becoming net positive entities.
Looking ahead, I am excited about the possibilities that lie on the horizon.
